Major Imran Ahmed Warsame from Somalia

Major Imran Ahmed Warsame from Somalia will share about the history, culture, political structure and tourist attractions of his country. There will be time for questions at the end of his presentation.

Major Warsame was born in 1993  and went to high school in Galkayo.  Then he moved to the capital city of Mogadishu and joined the military in 2013.  Following this, his country sent him to Istanbul, Turkey to attend the Air Force Academy. He returned to his country in 2018.

Major Warsame began serving as the TURKSOM Military Academy company commander working closely with multinational partners stationed in Somalia, including the U.S.  Next, he was called to the prime minister’s office and appointed as the new Chief of Personnel in Mogadishu. 

In this position Major Warsame reformed the personnel system and modernized Human Resources Management policy.  Before coming to the U.S., he was serving as Security Advisor to the Election’s Implementation Team.

Major Warsame received the 2021 SNAF Reform Presidential Award and is a Registered Professional Engineer.  He speaks several languages including Arabic, Somali, English and Turkish.
