A Perfect American Picnic
American culture is experienced by our international officers and their families through events provided by the Greater Kansas City People to People Chapter (GKCPTP) and the military at Fort Leavenworth. The Deanna Rose Children's Farm picnic has become a popular annual event. The purpose of this event is for the officers and their families to experience an American picnic and enjoy the petting zoo. Sponsors, officers and their families share this experience that helps form lasting friendships that often serve to keep peace in times of tension between nations as the Officers progress on their career path. Although the military provides a portion of the cost and transportation, GKCPTP is requesting financial help to continue the tradition.
